All Good Things Must Come To an End

Its been a sad few days since I've learned that my dearly beloved 325i is dying, also known as "see ya transmission". Personally I think having to pay $4,000 to get something fixed is wrong. So Bessie and I are breaking up, and after driving the same car since I was 15, I'm going to be sad to see her go.

However, I've already got my eye on a new sparkly 325i. Much newer, and with a much better transmission (hopefully).

I'm glad to see that Car and Driver agrees with my choice, I certainly think that the 3 series are the best. Fingers crossed that the one I test drive tomorrow meets my standards!

What I need right now

Doing this... (even with a child's life vest)

and drinking a bottle of this...

Elephant Decor

I've noticed I have a tendency to purchase elephant items for my new apartment. This includes a set of Jonathan Adler candle stick holders and A large paisley elephant decal that is above my TV. I'd like to add other items as well. I love Iomoi's designs, and I have one of their coasters with my monogram. I'd love to add this elephant one to my collection! And of course, the KJL Raj bracelet!

New parfum!

I love perfume. Adore, Adore, Adore. I can be a bit fickle with my scents too. Generally I stick to Chanel N. 5 and Marc Jacob's Daisy. However... I've ventured outside of my 2 standbys and purchased Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb. I love it! its light and floral-ish without being TOO strong (a major dislike in my book)! Also Sephora essentially overnighted it to me, I ordered it Wednesday and it was here today! It made for quite a nice surprise after a long workday.

Neil Young

Speaking of Harvest Moons... this song always reminds me of October in Charleston.

Fall in the Nation's Capital

Tomorrow is officially fall, and according to CNN we're going to have a "super" harvest moon tonight. I cannot express my love enough for Fall (and Harvest Moons!).

Now, the temperature just needs to cool down so I can fully enjoy fall apples, pumpkins, cooler nights, wearing riding boots, hot toddies, apple cider and fall my favorite orange items! I also am looking forward to the beautiful fall colors that DC has!

J. Crew Tights

I love fall. I kinda like winter. Having to adjust from cool southern winter to Arctic DC winters (please no repeat of the 4 feet of snow from last year), I've found that fun tights are a great way to stay warm during the cold months. I'm already looking at J.Crew's offerings this year, since I previously nabbed some favorites from there.

Here's what I'm looking forward to staying warm with this winter. I really like the herringbone and ribbed tights.

Hermès

I want it. I need it. I HAVE GOT TO HAVE IT.
The Hermes Clic Clac bracelet. I've particularly honed in on the gold with black enamel. I just must, must, must have it! I'm asking for it for Christmas but I simply don't think I can wait 4 months to have this little jewel on my wrist. Is it bad I'm already thinking Christmas List (and I'm 23?)

A bit about Moi

Saw this on another blog I frequently peruse and thought it was cute. A bit about me, but not too too much.

If I was a month, I would be late May or October.
If I was a day of the week, I would be Thursday.
If I was a time of day, I would be cocktail time.
If I was a sea animal, I would be a penguin.
If I was a direction, I would be South (obviously)
If I was a piece of furniture, I would be a... A Louis Chair or A Chinese Chippendale Faux Bamboo Chair
If I was a gemstone, I would be a emerald.
If I was a tree, I would be a Magnolia Tree.
If I was a flower, I would be a Peony.
If I was a kind of weather, I would be a fall day in Charleston.
If I was a car, I would be an Alpine White BMW.
If I was a place, I would be South Carolina.
If I was a fabric, I would be damask.
If I was a scent, I would be Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere.
If I was a song, I would be "Night Moves" by Bob Segar... a college classic.
If I was a pair of shoes, I would be Golden and Bronze Jack Rogers.

Struggle City

Thankfully tomorrow is Friday because this week has been quite long for only 4 days. Entering full weekend mode in less than 18 hours... On another note...
Clearly I need a few days off to reset.

Savoring Summer

I'm a stickler about a few things. Some border on the slightly obsessive and crazy side (like clothes must be organized by color, and style in my closet) others are probably a bit more standard. For example, I do NOT wear white after labor day. Just to be clear I mean white as in... white pants, white skirts and white shoes. This especially extends to anything that is lace or eyelet. Those are especially off limits. Don't get me wrong, I adore white, however, its best savored for an exact period of time- being from Easter to Labor Day.

Needless to say, I'm already planning my outfit for work tomorrow and it involves a beloved BCBG eyelet pencil skirt.

I'm also really into eating as many tomatoes as humanly possible while they're still delicious, juicy, SUMMER tomatoes. I currently have roma, grape and cherry tomatoes in my kitchen. I've also discovered I'm really really really into Caprese salads with balsamic reduction. I've had 3 in the past week. This tomato consumption is necessary as I refuse to accept the red-on-the-outside-and-white-on-the-inside fakes as tomatoes during the winter.
