I'm alive

So last week was interesting. Tuesday we had an 5.8 magnitude earthquake that caused almost every office in DC (including mine) to evacuate and an "early dismissal" from work. We celebrated surviving by drinking beer on the roof followed by half price wine night at Town Hall. Needless to say, Wednesday was full of what some can call an "earthquake hangover". But not to let one natural disaster take all the excitement we ALSO had a hurricane Saturday!

Needless to say... Earthquakes are scary (really... I can now permanently scratch California off my potential places to live) and Hurricane Irene was not anything more than a big rainstorm with some wind that knocked down trees. I am lucky, I was able to park Bonnie Blue is a garage and avoid a potential date with the insurance adjuster, and also I never lost power. I heard some of Glover Park is still without power! (sorry yall, but don't fret, its tuesday, so come to HPWN at Town Hall) !

DC Weekend

Had the most lovely weekend. A relaxing and calm friday night. Saturday was rather busy, starting the AM off with a walk for Huntington's Disease to support a friend and then Salahi-style party crashing (we had tickets however) to preparties for the White House Correspondent's Dinner. Had a run in with Sean Penn and Chelsea Handler, among a many other celebs (hello Chase Crawford!). It was quite a treat to have that many big names in DC all at the same time and somehow also at an event that I managed to go to. A lovely time indeed.

Not to mention after escaping from the wildness that was Connecticut Avenue and the Washington Hilton, we had dinner at Bistrot du Coin (my most favorite french restaurant in all of DC!)

Virginia Wine Tour

This weekend to celebrate my friend's birthday we took our yearly wine tour of Virginia Wineries. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we spent nearly 8 hours just sitting outside enjoying the country air and delicious wine. We tasted a variety of wines, and I ended up purchasing a bottle of the "Rooster Red" to enjoy outside. You visit two vineyards and get a ride in a hilariously decked out school bus from Arlington to the vineyards.

We had a fantastic time and I highly recommend going on a vineyard tour
for anyone who lives in the DC area!
After the vineyards I stopped by the South Carolina Society Oyster Roast for some oystahs and shriamp... and some lovely time with Glennie.

Weekend

I had a lovely weekend filled with lots of time with friends as well as 2 yummy brunches.

I got to try the Eggs Chesapeake at The Wharf in Old Towne Alexandria. Very yummy and they also serve strawberries with fresh Chantilly cream. The best part of brunch was eating outside... its so nice to finally feel spring starting to come! 58 and sunny was exactly what I needed to boost my spirits today.

Friday night was the Casino Royale party at the University Club.
A good time was had by all- especially when we picked up these hilarious glasses!

Hope everyone enjoyed the spring weather! I know I did.
